| What is it? |
|
|
| Random
Dice Roller will allow you to generate a random
dice roll for your RPG needs. The program is set
up so that you can enter the number of dice to roll
as well as how many sides the dice must have. Most
often dice will need to be of various sizes. Most
RPG's use 6 sided dice as well as 12, 20, 10, 8,
4, sometimes 100 sided. We've even seen a 34 sided
die!! |
|
| Using Random Dice
Roller |
|
|
| To
generate a random number we will use the example
of 2d6 (two 6 sided dice.) simply enter the number
2 in the box next to the words "number of dice".
Then enter the number 6 in the box next to "number
of sides" and click on the roll button. It's that
easy the results will appear in the box that has
the words "total rolled" If you don't like the result
just click on roll and it will re-roll the dice
for you automatically. |
|
| Limitations? |
|
|
| The
limit for both the number of sides and number of
dice to 100 that will give you a lot of room to
work with. In simpler terms you have a limit of
100 d100's you can roll at once. We haven't yet
seen a need for anything higher than a d100 so it
made sense to us to limit it there. |
|
| Game Compatibility |
|
|
As
far as we can tell this will meet all your dice
rolling needs except unless you are looking for
something that will fudge the numbers to make you
happy.. but you could always just click on roll
again to find the number you are happy with.
Since we have
only played MechWars, and Advanced Dungeons and
Dragons. We cannot guarantee for 100 percent certainty
that this is compatible with all of the existing
RPG's out there.. However, from the games we've
seen, it should be. |
|
| What the buttons
do!! |
|
|
Roll
If you have entered
a number between 1 and 100 in the first two boxes,
then clicking on this button will create the random
number and place it in the third box. Copy
This allows you
to copy the "total rolled" result to the clipboard.
We decided to offer this ability. We are not fully
sure why, but here it is.. Clear
All Clicking
on Clear All will do just that, it will clear all
the boxes, making it easier for you to enter different
numbers for different dice. Clear
Now that we think
about it, this is sort of redundant.. By clicking
here the program will clear the "total rolled" box.
About Ah
yes.. the ever loving About button.. if you click
here you will be taken to the screen that has all
the important information about the program.
Exit We
always feel a little silly explaining this one..
It allows you to exit/leave/quit the program. Gee
that was simple wasn't it... (groan) |

to describe how the buttons on the help screen work. |
